when you are with us - we are always pleased to help you!
We
are just a short stroll away from Budleigh Salterton,
which is a pretty, thriving, small seaside community lying
between Sidmouth and Exeter. The beach stretches for miles
and the views and walks are stunning. Enjoy a delicious
Devon cream tea in quaint tea shops in the town, or browse
elegant fashions in our individual boutique shops before
strolling down to the beach with its beautiful dramatic
coastline of cliffs rising from the beach as far as the
eye can see.
We
are close to the coastal path, and a myriad of footpaths
along which to explore the reknowned Jurassic
Coastline - with enormous sandy beaches, picturesque
Woodbury Common, the Otter Valley and the Exe estuary
on your doorstep, you will find history and beautiful
scenery at every turn. The ancient estuary towns such
as Lympstone and Topsham are a few minutes drive away,
and have a wealth of antique and craft shops and thriving
mariners connections. Boat trips around the coast, fishing
trips, deep sea diving, sailing, surfing and windsurfing
are all available nearby, and bus, road and rail links
connect locally.
If
it's good food you seek, we have superb pubs and restaurants
in the area with locally caught fresh fish and seafood
a speciality in many restaurants. In Budleigh Salterton
try Gardiners Restaurant (53 High Street), Abbracciami
or Corleone's Ristorante Italiano (both in the High Street),
The Feathers (High Street), or Salterton Arms (Chapel
Street) - or for something a bit further afield The Jack
on the Green at Rockbeare is worth the drive.
Step
back in time with thatched cottages and beautiful rolling
Devon countryside that stretches for miles in every direction
- you will find something to delight you in every town
and village. Exmouth
with its long golden sandy beach is five minutes drive
away and Exeter is only 20 minutes away and is a fine
place to spend time exploring with its beautiful cathedral
and high street shopping areas.
Feeling
energetic? The terrain at Woodbury
Common is superb for mountain biking and horseriding,
and we have several leisure centres, 3 nearby golf courses
and local parks with a wide range of sporting activities
available locally. For a great day out with the children,
why not try Crealy
Adventure Park just a short drive away? For a day
walking around beautiful gardens visit Bicton
Park and Botanical Gardens, or one of the many National
Trust gardens in the area. The
English Riviera at Torquay with its marina and promenade
is well worth a visit, too.
